Prospective adopters must fill out a detailed online application (https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/mV05c4Brdd5I), which is reviewed by both the President and foster family of the particular cat. If the applicant is deemed to be a good match for the cat, we schedule a meet and greet at an upcoming adoption event. Prior to the meet and greet, the prospective adopter is asked to fill out an adoption contract. If the meet and greet goes well, the adopter takes the cat home on a trial basis - they pay the adoption fee (ranging from $200-$275) and submit the paperwork, but the paperwork isn't finalized until the adopter has a chance to see if the cat is truly a good fit in their home. Renters must show proof that their rental agreement allows pets. We ask for personal and vet references. We require adopters to have a plan in place for their pets should something happen to them. We ensure adopters are financially capable of caring for a pet. And we require all other pets in the home to be spayed/neutered.
