How to Delete Your Account

Option 1: Delete from the App (Recommended)

The fastest way to delete your account is directly through the Boop app:

1. Open the Boop app on your device
2. Tap on the Profile tab
3. Tap Settings (gear icon)
4. Scroll down and tap Delete Account
5. Confirm by tapping Yes, Delete My Account

Your account and all associated data will be deleted immediately.

Option 2: Request Deletion via Email

If you cannot access the app, you can request account deletion by email:

1. Send an email to privacy@boopthesnoot.app
2. Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
3. Include the email address associated with your Boop account
4. We will process your request within 7 business days

What Happens After Deletion

• Immediate: Your account becomes inaccessible
• Within 24 hours: Your profile data is removed from active systems
• Within 30 days: Backup copies are purged
• Log data: Anonymized log data may be retained for up to 90 days for security purposes

Data We May Retain

In accordance with legal requirements, we may retain certain information even after account deletion:

• Records required for legal compliance or dispute resolution
• Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you
• Information shared with shelters (your messages to them)

Alternatives to Deletion

If you're experiencing issues, consider these alternatives:

• Take a break: Simply uninstall the app. Your data will remain if you return.
• Clear your matches: You can remove individual saved pets without deleting your account.
• Update preferences: Adjust your settings to change how the app works for you.
